The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is the most powerful phone in the Chinese manufacturer’s offerings for 2022. Its premiere is still a few months away, but we know surprisingly much about it. Joining the group of the most interesting new products to date is the most important novelty – the main camera sensor.
In theory, the best photo phones on the market today are the Huawei and Honor models. Even a year after its premiere, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra remains in the top three. The successor should bring an even bigger main matrix. In the predecessor, it was the 1/1.12″ Samsung GN2. Previous leaks indicated that the same sensor would go to the successor. Until today.
A recognized Chinese insider, Digital Chat Station, claims that a different sensor may be available for the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. It will be a Sony IMX800 series sensor, which has not yet been introduced. It will have a resolution of 50MP and will be physically the largest on the market. The thing about it is that it is the smallest (1/1.1″), but still the largest. However, in the final assessment of the quality of photos from the camera of the top flagship Xiaomi will play a major role something else.
It is, of course, about the software and image processing capabilities of the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus processor. Perhaps Xiaomi will also choose a special system for this purpose. Oppo did this in the case of the Find X5 Pro model.
