During MWC 2022, the Chinese concern Huawei introduced the MatePad Paper tablet, a very unusual device equipped with an E Ink screen used in e-books.
Huawei MatePad Paper is one of the few tablets that use E Ink technology, known primarily among people who frequently use devices that allow them to read e-books. The screen in this model is 10.3 inches and displays an image with a resolution of 1872 x 1404 pixels.
The panel offers 32 levels of backlighting, which will allow you to read and perform operations both in the absence of light and in very bright light. Due to the low refresh rate of the screen, the device can only display full shades of gray.
The device uses a new stylus from the Chinese concern, that is, the Huawei M Pencil. MatePad Paper allows you to convert handwritten text into digital text, and the stylus can be placed in a special hole in the case, equipped with a magnet.
Purely from a technical point of view, Huawei MatePad Paper is equipped with a six-core processor, supported by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory. The 3,625 mAh battery, in turn, lasts up to 28 days of operation without recharging.
Huawei MatePad Paper will arrive in Europe at a price of 499 euros – the kit includes a stylus M Pencil, as well as Folio case for the tablet.
