Google wants to have a working quantum computer by 2029

Google recently announced “quantum superiority. Although this was more of a PR exercise, the company intends to invest in quantum computer (QC)-related technologies and introduce its hardware as early as 2029.

The company is going to spend billions of dollars building CC-related technology over the next decade. Google is going to build a machine with a million qubits.

Getting to that level is a multi-step process. First, Google is going to eliminate the bugs generated by qubits, and then it is going to think about creating a thousand qubits that will be combined into a single logic circuit. This, in turn, should be the basis for creating a quantum transistor, which will be the building block of future quantum computers. The company intends to create the first such machines at the end of this decade, specifically in 2029.
