The TIGER (Transforming Intelligent Ground Excursion Robot) concept, being developed by the recently formed New Horizons studio in collaboration with Autodesk and Sundberg-Ferar, is a logical extension of the dream of a walking automobile robot. It will be the company’s first unmanned vehicle with 360-degree directional control, typically designed to carry payload in difficult and remote terrain.
As Dr. John Soo, head of New Horizons Studios, aptly put it, the group’s vision for automated vehicles such as TIGER and related technologies is to push the boundaries of imagination for future UMVs. He said: “We are constantly looking for ways to redefine vehicle design and development and redefine the future of transportation and mobility.”
